Fed: Haneef lawyer 'astounded' over AFP efforts

The lawyer for MOHAMED HANEEF says it's astounding there are still nine Federal Police
officers dedicated to his client's case .. seven months after charges were dropped.

Questioning in federal parliament by Greens Senator KERRY NETTLE yesterday has revealed
there are also an additional five officers available .. to assist investigations if needed.

Lawyer PETER RUSSO says he doesn't know what they could be investigating .. and says
it's preventing Dr HANEEF from returning to Australia.

Mr RUSSO says he'll speak to his client tonight .. about how it'll affect Dr HANEEF's
decision to return to Australia for a planned federal government inquiry into the case.
