Fed: Hollingworth to meet child sex abuse victims

Governor-General PETER HOLLINGWORTH has agreed to meet any victims of child sexual
abuse at Anglican schools during his tenure as Archbishop of Brisbane.

Dr HOLLINGWORTH also offered to meet child protection advocates in the new year --
after denying last week that he'd been involved in a cover-up of sexual abuse.

Dr HOLLINGWORTH has been under public pressure to act, with Queensland Premier PETER
BEATTIE calling on him to take a week's leave and visit the families of child abuse victims.

The Governor-General's private secretary MARTIN BONSEY says people wanting to take
up the invitation can phone (02) 6283 3537 over the next few days and leave their contact
details.

The Anglican Diocese of Brisbane has been ordered to pay $834,800 damages to a woman,
24, sexually abused by a former boarding master at Toowoomba Preparatory School.

The church maintains it knew nothing about the activities of KEVIN GEORGE GUY until
he committed suicide in 1990, leaving a letter saying he'd "loved" 20 girls at the school.
