VIC: Teenage girls charged with murder weep in court

MELBOURNE, Aug 16 AAP - Two teenage girls today fought back tears when they appeared in the
Victorian Supreme Court over their alleged stabbing murder of a 47-year-old woman.

The pair has been in custody since last Friday and had been due to make a bail application
this morning.

But their barristers told Justice Barry Beach the bail application was not ready to
proceed.

The two girls, aged 13 and 15 years, have been charged with the murder of Pahetsorine
Visisombat.

Ms Visisombat's body was found with several stab wounds on the verandah of her Armstrong
Way home in North Dandenong at 1.30am on August 4.

The two girls were dressed in jeans and casual clothes and under guard as Justice Beach
agreed that the bail applications be withdrawn.

At one point they timidly stood as their names were read.

The girls appeared to fight back tears and the younger girl wiped her eye as they were led
from court by security officers.

David Drake, for the younger girl, asked the judge to note on the file that no application
for bail had been made.

Mr Drake did not indicate when the bail application was likely to be made.

The two girls are due to appear on September 2 in the Children's Court.
